How we compile our dates
Our holiday data is compiled from official government gazettes, labour ministries and other authoritative public sources. Fixed-date holidays and rule-based holidays (such as the nth Monday of a month) are listed with confidence. Holidays that follow the lunar Islamic calendar — such as Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha — are marked as expected until they are confirmed by official moon-sighting announcements, because they can shift by a day.
Holiday calendars change: governments occasionally add, move or rename observances. We review our calendars regularly, but we always recommend confirming critical dates with an official source before making travel or business plans.
